Bayer's global commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility encompasses active engagement in our patient communities and the cities where our employees work and live. As the second largest biotechnology employer in the San Francisco Bay Area, Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals has a proud tradition of supporting local civic and charitable institutions. Priority areas for both grants and employee volunteerism are science and environmental education, patient support, and support of the communities in which our three sites - Berkeley, Richmond and Emeryville - are located. In 2009, Bayer was distinguished as Education Partner of the Year by the San Francisco Business Times.
