    Seattle

The flagship facility of Bayer's supply center in the Seattle area is a new, $85 million manufacturing center in the early stages of licensure. Once licensed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, this 95,000 square foot facility, located on a 16-acre site in Lynnwood, Washington, is where Bayer will consolidate all supply operations behind Leukine ® (sargramostim), a growth factor that helps fight infection and disease in cancer patients by enhancing immune cell function. Bayer licensed Leukine to Genzyme Corporation in 2009 and operates the facility as a toll manufacturing center. Genzyme is expected to acquire the facility following licensure in late 2011.
